Don’t we just love to micromanage how things go in our lives?

Your house must look this way, and your job must be done exactly like this, and your meals have to be done just so, etc.

We hate to give up control and surrender to the Universe because we are scared.

We are scared that things will not go as planned unless we stay on top of everything: the meeting won’t be a success, dinner won’t go smoothly, your relationship will start to suffer, and so forth.

So we supervise and insist on having things done our way, at our pace, or else we get worried.

The same thing happens when we try to manifest our goals: we first start off with enthusiasm, focusing on our vision, and trying to affirm the changes we want to see.

But we don’t surrender and wait patiently for the Universe to bring us the goals we want to see.

We expect the changes to come when we want, how we want, from whence we want.

We get agitated and worried when things don’t go our way; when our circumstances seem to stay the same, we lose faith in the process. We allow our conditions to affect our emotional reactions and make things worse:

You realize after a few months you are still driving that old deadbeat car, so you scowl and cuss other drivers out while on the road.

You still haven’t gotten that date from your dream partner yet, so you grow desperate and start panicking, acting needy, and calling up your exes; before you know it, you are furiously swiping right while you surf dating sites.

That dream promotion is not forthcoming, so you start acting with your boss and being resentful.

You find it hard to have things not going according to your pace; you think the Universe is too slow and that possibly if given a chance, you could do a better job.
